John Fox, President & CEO

John Fox founded Forest Capital after selling Rockland Credit Finance's portfolio in 2009 to Allied Affiliated Funding.  Previously, he founded Reservoir Capital Corporation.  His prior associations in the factoring business go back to 1987.  He has been actively involved in commercial finance since 1976.

His early experience was in the development of several high-tech companies, which he took public or merged into publicly traded companies.  Fox is President of the Commercial Finance Association for the 2010-2011 period.  He is past chairperson of several CFA committees.

He holds a Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Cambridge and an M.B.A. from Brunel University. 

Donald Kennedy, Senior Vice President

Donald Kennedy joined Forest Capital in December 2009 during its early development stage.  Kennedy has over thirty years of experience in the Commercial Finance Industry serving in various business development positions for MNC Commercial Corp., Mellon Business Credit, Reservoir Capital Corporation, Sunrock Capital Corporation, and Rockland Credit Finance.  Prior to joining Forest Capital, Kennedy was a Business Development Manager with Allied Affiliated Funding.

Kennedy is the current Secretary/Treasurer of the Baltimore Washington Chapter of the Commercial Finance Association.  He graduated from the University of Baltimore with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Martin Helfand, Chief Credit Officer

Martin Helfand has over 20 years of experience in the factoring industry.  Formerly Chief Financial Officer for Rockland Credit Finance, Helfand has prior experience as a Senior Portfolio Manager with Rockland Credit Finance and at the factoring divisions of Citibank and ABN-Amro.  He has managed factoring facilities for over 500 companies providing billions of dollars of financing.  Helfand has a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin and is a Certified Public Accountant.
